Wash your hair every two to three days, or more infrequently if desired. Choose a shampoo designed for damaged hair.
- 3 Use a deep conditioning treatment once a week and a leave-in conditioner after shampooing. Deep conditioning treatments or masks usually need to be left on wet hair 10 to 20 minutes (depending on the brand) before being rinsed out.
- 4 Limit the use of heat styling products such as flat irons, curling irons and hot rollers. Before using any of these items, protect hair with a thermal protective spray or serum.
- 5 Allow hair to air dry whenever possible. If you use a blow-dryer, set the temperature to low or medium. Point the nozzle down to avoid frizziness.
